Author???s note:

If the landlord???s application for eviction was upheld by the court the tenant could expect eviction within one to two weeks, his land reclaimed and his cottage pulled down and reduced to rubble. Note the month of the hearing is November

The landlords picked the winter months to evict as any crop growing in the field was still regarded as the tenant???s own property. No crops grew in the winter months.

All the intended evictions listed above were for farms and cottages in the district of the town of Carndonagh.

Captain(sometimes Admiral) Cochrane and Ernest Cochrane resided in Redcastle House,

Quigley???s Point ,County Donegal.where they had a small estate.

The house is now the Redcastle Hotel.
