It will be noticed that among the Girls many are of an age which at first sight might be deemed inadmissible to an Orphan Asylum, but in fact they are all greater objects of compassion than the very young children from their state of debility and utter helplessness. As soon as recovered so as to enable them to work, they will be placed out as servants. As a proof of their helplessness when admitted they were not only unable to wash and attend the young children, but could not perform those duties for themselves. Without friends or money, they must have either perished in the streets, or become victims of a worse fate. Ann McCord, Secretary.
